Overview

Global upstream spending in the oil and gas sector currently is expected to remain set at around US$700 billion over the next decade. However it is crucial to note that close to 20% of this spending will take place in our very own backyard, South East Asia. Malaysia in particular sits within the center of this hype – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak stressed that the capital expenditure of the nation’s oil and gas sector’s upstream business is forecast to be close to US$60 billion over the next five years!

With such movement in place, it is crucial for all engineering professionals involved in the upstream oil and gas business within SEA to capitalise on their technical and investment options. Combine this with the intensity ageing structures and platforms within the region, and we have a serious problem at hand. While current emphasis is on the development of marginal oil fields and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), engineers need to know how their role will evolve and what they need to do NOW to avoid being left behind!

The 3rd Annual Offshore Structures Asia includes case studies and expert insights on structural integrity management of offshore assets including inspection, corrosion management and ultimate strength analysis, to name a few. In addition to case studies and expert insights, the programme also includes think tank session on the current issues and challenges on achieving structural integrity and lifespan optimization. Additionally, Metocean, one of the vital and essential parts and puzzles to optimising structural integrity for offshore platforms is also incorporated as the full day course for third day.  The structure of the themes in this forum aims to provide the delegates with insights to enhance and optimise your offshore platform structural integrity.

Do not miss this opportunity to take advantage of the various case studies and expert presentations that highlight current design and maintenance techniques, insights and trends!
