The Malaysian Structural Steel Association (MSSA) was formed 16 years ago to promote the growth of the Structural Steel Industry through enhancing the perception of structural steel as a construction material and encouraging the usage of steel as the primary building material of choice. The organization supports the interests of the Constructional Steel and Oil & Gas industry and its associated professionals.

MSSA is made up of engineers, fabricators, contractors, architects, designers, surveyors as well as academics and students from several tertiary institutions in the country. As these individuals and their respective organizations offer much more in terms of diversity and practicality for the local construction industry, MSSA complements these efforts by working to re-define the industry in providing leadership, enhancing standards and improving construction practices at building sites through the use of structural steel.

 

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established on January 10, 1997 when PETRONAS was invited by the Malaysian government to set up a university.The campus is built on a 400 hectare (1,000 acre) site strategically located at Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak Darul Ridzuan, Malaysia. The University is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil company of Malaysia.

 UTP offers a wide range of engineering and technology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels complemented with a strong focus on Research and Development. The programmes are designed with high industry relevance to provide a dynamic learning environment.

 The University community comprises of students and staff from various countries and is located in a beautifully landscaped setting, amidst the new township of Seri Iskandar. Its peaceful environment, wide open spaces and abundant lakes make these serene surroundings an ideal place to study.

  The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) was established by Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia to further strengthen the country’s business events brand and position globally. A non-profit organisation, MyCEB serves as a one-stop centre to assist meeting planners to bid for and stage international business events in Malaysia and act as a conduit for national product development.

 

Construction Industry Development Board was established under the Construction Industry Development Act (Act 520) to develop the Capacity and Capability of the Construction Industry Through Enhancement of Quality and Productivity by Placing Great Emphasis on Professionalism, Innovation and Knowledge in the Endeavour to Improve the Quality of Life.

The Pigging Products and Services Association (PPSA) provides free technical information about pigging for the pipeline industry.
Its aims are, "To promote the knowledge of pigging and its related products and services by providing a channel of communication between the members themselves, and with users and other interested parties".


The APEA is a UK based organisation, drawing membership from all quarters of the petroleum industry, including Regulators from Authorities, Oil Companies, Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers, Service and Installation Organisations, Training Establishments and many others. It is seen to be unique in representing all sides of the industry and in providing a forum for debate and the generation of technical guidance.
The APEA objectives still hold true today: The advancement of scientific and technical knowledge; The supply and interchange of information; Uniformity of standards interpretation and application.

 

This competitive global environment is taken as a challenge by Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET) to serve the Malaysian interest & the global interest of  engineering & technology professions.  MySET  aims to elevate its members to a level that they can perform at the international arena, through its professional development programmes, networking, examinations &  international benchmarking.

SOGCA was established on 27 March 2008 and mooted by the current Exploration & Production development particularly within Sabah waters offshore and onshore; this association represents a business forum for the oil & gas contractors in Sabah to achieve recognition and success in the industry.

 

The Centre for Energy Environment Resources Development (CEERD) based in Bangkok, conducts training, research and consultancy in the energy and environment fields, notably power sector development, energy efficiency, renewable technologies and Climate Change (CDM), within regional or international projects, or private sector cooperation.
